Permaculture is a holistic design science and methodology that incorporates rural and urban land management, environmental sciences, economics, social dynamics, and diverse system interactions with observation; governed by a set of forty-six principles that form an integrated self supportive system to the benefit of all neighboring systems. It allows for the potential of such integrated system stability that if one system fails, a neighboring system will fill the void/ space/ habitat to achieve a natural balance.
Bruce-Ruhl Design was founded in 2012 by Margaret Ruhl and Daniel Bruce. It is a 46-principle permaculture-centered think tank and design firm based in Spokane, WA. Its focus is how to use permaculture design techniques in the areas of urban environments, technological applications, and unconventional business models that are self-sustainable and/or closed loop in structure and function. Its action is to implement the designs it creates and through this action, educate to inspire.
